Nottingham Forest Under 18s players Matty Cash and Tim Erlandsson can’t wait for Thursday’s FA Youth Cup fourth-round match at West Brom. The pair both played in The Reds’ dramatic extra-time victory over MK Dons in the last round and, for goalkeeper Erlandsson, it was an evening he’ll never forget.
The Swede told Forest Player: “To play at The City Ground was one of the best experiences of my life. It was massive for me, and to get that result was just amazing.
“That was my second competitive match and I have to get to know my team-mates a little bit more. It will be better and better each game.”
The 18s saw off Sheffield United in a league match on Saturday to secure their fifth consecutive win.
And, with all eyes now on the cup, midfielder Cash says it’s essential that the good feeling within the group is transferred into a professional performance at the Hawthorns.
He said: “We know West Brom will be a good side. We’ve got to stay strong and keep our shape.
“Credit to Kevin MacDonald and Jack Lester. We’re working really hard on the training ground. Every day is a hard day, which it should be.
“Playing at a Premier League ground is going to be really interesting and I’m looking forward to it.”
