Nottingham Forest Under 18s midfielder Adam Crookes was pleased with the way the team ‘pressed from the front’ in last night’s FA Youth Cup success against Burnley.
Goals from Oliver Burke and Tyler Walker handed Forest a comfortable 2-0 win over their Lancashire counterparts
, setting up a quarter-final home tie against either Manchester United or Tottenham Hotspur.
Speaking to Forest Player after the match, Crookes said: “It was a brilliant performance from all the lads and a great win. I thought we did brilliantly to grind out the result and it was plain sailing after 2-0.
“The defence were great. Burnley only got a couple of shots off – Tim Erlandsson got down and saved one really well.
“The whole team pressed from the front as Kev MacDonald and Jack Lester have told us to.”
Crookes has been named skipper on a number of occasions this season – a role he is enjoying.
He said: “I’m really proud to be named as captain.
“It’s a great honour to lead out the boys and I’m relishing the opportunity – just playing my normal game and leading them both vocally and with my performance.”
