Too hot to handle

22 February 2015

Dexter Blackstock believes Bolton ‘couldn’t handle’ Nottingham Forest yesterday as The Reds ran out 4-1 winners.

Two goals up after 17 minutes, Forest looked dangerous throughout the game, and Blackstock, making his first start since December, praised the intensity of their display.

Speaking to Forest Player, he said: “I don’t think they could handle us and really we should have been out of sight in the first half.

“We came flying out of the traps – they couldn’t live with us on the counter attack and Burkey and Antonio caused mayhem.

“We had a little setback before half-time but if we hadn’t won that game it would have been criminal.”

The 28-year-old was delighted to be back in the side and pleased with the service he got from wingers Chris Burke and Michail Antonio.

He added: “It’s a dream for me to play in a team with two wingers. It’s something the manager has pushed since he came in, to feed our wide men, let them get at people, and have more emphasis on attacking hence the reason why we’ve scored 14 goals in the last four games.

“It’s magnificent to be back in the team and part of a massive win for us. We’ve done it in an entertaining way too and I think everyone has gone home happy today.”
