Nottingham Forest goalkeeper Karl Darlow says that Wednesday night’s clash with Wigan Athletic is a good opportunity to start putting a run of positive results together.
The weekend win at Brighton
stopped Forest from falling to a third defeat on the bounce and Darlow says he and his teammates must start to find more consistency in their game.
Speaking to Forest Player he said: “We need to put some wins together and get back on track. Results haven’t been right in recent times so we need to put that right.
“We’ve got an ambitious dressing room and we’re all aiming as high as we can so we need another good result on Wednesday.
“At home we look to get a bit more of the play but we want to stay as organised as we were on Saturday. The result has given us a lot of confidence and we’ll go into the Wigan game hoping to put one over on them as well."
Darlow made his first appearance of the calendar year in Saturday’s 3-2 victory at the Amex Stadium and the 24-year-old says he was pleased to make his return to the side under new boss Dougie Freedman.
He said: “I’m delighted to be back playing. As footballers all you want to be doing is playing games so I was pleased to be back in the team and it was a good start for us under the new manager.
“Personally I just want game time. I’m still young so I want to keep learning and developing as a goalkeeper and so it is brilliant to be back in the squad.
“There’s been more organisation and we’ve worked on tactics a lot more over the past week. We know exactly what the manager wants us to do and we know how to carry it out.”
