Mancienne happy with shut-out

21 September 2014

Nottingham Forest defender Michael Mancienne was pleased with The Reds’ clean sheet in yesterday’s trip to Millwall.

Mancienne captainted Forest to a creditable 0-0 draw against a physical Lions side, and he was thrilled with the way he and his defensive teammates managed to shut out their hosts.

Speaking after the match, Mancienne said: “It was a horrible game, to be fair. But it’s a good point and an important clean sheet, which is very important for us, and I was happy with how the whole of our back five defended.

“We’re still top of the table and we’re now looking forward to our next game.”

Next up for Forest are Premier League side Tottenham Hotspur in the third round of the Capital One Cup.

And Mancienne says he and his teammates are relishing the prospect of testing themselves against top-flight opposition.

He said: “It’s a massive game, playing against a Premier League team with great players. We’re looking forward to it.

“It’ll be a good test for us and we’ll give it our best.”
