Nottingham Forest manager Stuart Pearce is expecting a ‘good game all round’ at Cardiff on Saturday.
Sky Bet Championship action resumes for Pearce’s men with a trip to Wales and, with new Cardiff manager Russell Slade preparing to take his first game in charge of the Bluebirds, the Forest manager envisages an entertaining afternoon.
Pearce told Forest Player: “He’ll want to have an impact. He’s just come into Cardiff and will be hopeful of hitting the ground running and putting on a good performance to buoy up the home fans.
“He comes with a good track record and has played some good football wherever he’s managed before.
“I think it’s a great game for him to start with. He’s coming up against a team in the top two of the league and unbeaten. It’ll be a good game all round I think.”
Forest’s last match was the 2-2 draw with Ipswich at The City Ground in early October and Pearce is pleased with the way he and his staff have managed the recent downtime.
He said: “We’ve enjoyed the break but it’s nice to get back to work again. I think the way we’ve given the players just enough time off to freshen up but not to taper off in their fitness has worked extremely well.
“They have a spring in their step and that’s really pleasing for me.”
