Stuart Pearce believes there’s ‘no better time’ to visit The City Ground than for Sunday’s clash with Ipswich Town (kick-off 3pm).
Forest welcome the Tractor Boys for a match which, depending on Saturday’s results, could present either side with an opportunity to go top of the Sky Bet Championship table ahead of the international break.
Forest have won three of their five home games this season, scoring 11 goals in the process, and Pearce is keen for fans to help him and the team preserve The City Ground’s formidable reputation.
He told Forest Player: “If you want to come and get involved with Nottingham Forest there is probably no better time.
“The team are second in the league, they’re undefeated into October and the players and I need all the support we can get in making The City Ground a fortress.
“Having a strong home form will be vital in our push to get into the Premier League.”
Three points against Mick McCarthy’s men would help towards achieving that target, but Pearce believes his men will have to overcome their biggest challenge of the season to claim victory.
He said: “I went to Ipswich’s game against Wigan and they left three players up front when they were defending.
“They’re very athletic – a very big side. I think it will be our toughest game of the season. They’re undefeated in five, winning four of them, and Mick is an outstanding manager.
“It’ll be a tough game, but an exciting one I think.”
