Karl Darlow has praised the form of Nottingham Forest’s defenders after he kept a third successive clean sheet at Wigan last night.
The keeper has been in good form this season but, speaking after the 0-0 draw at the DW Stadium, was effusive in his praise for the men in front of him.
He said: “The back four are making it easy for me at the minute.
“The manager is going with the back four he thinks can deal best with the teams we’re playing against and it’s working really well. We have a lot of quality in the squad, especially at the back.
“I’m enjoying keeping clean sheets and long may it continue.”
Along with defender Jamaal Lascelles, Darlow signed for Newcastle United this summer before returning to The City Ground on a season-long loan.
And the keeper hopes the early form he and his team-mates have shown will help him realise his dream of winning promotion in a Forest shirt.
He said: “I want to get into the Premier League with this team. Hopefully we’ll keep grinding out results away and pick up a few more wins at home, then we’ll be right up there. 0-0s can be massive come the end of the season.
“We’ve made a very good start. We’ll look to take that into the international break and build on it when we come back in.”
