Back in town

23 October 2014

Nottingham Forest full back Dan Harding says Saturday’s return to The City Ground ‘can only help’ him and his team-mates.

The Reds were last in action on Trentside on 5 October, when they drew 2-2 with Ipswich, and Harding is hopeful the much-loved stadium will inspire The Reds to get back to winning ways.

He told Forest Player: “I suppose if you ask any player they’ll say they love playing at home.

“We’re lucky enough to play at a great stadium with great fans and it can only help us.

“It’s done well for us so far and hopefully we can pick up another good three points on Saturday.”

It’s been a hectic schedule since the recent international break, with trips to Cardiff and Watford coming around in quick succession.

But Harding, who played the full 90 minutes in Tuesday night’s 2-2 draw at Vicarage Road, believes the squad have the mental capacity to handle the busy schedule.

He said: “It is difficult and I’m the sure the gaffer and his staff would have liked more time to prepare for the Watford game.

“Unfortunately we don’t have that time, but we have good staff and intelligent players who take on board what they’re being told.

“We’re dealing with a lot of games in a short space of time but it’s not a problem.”
