Nottingham Forest goalkeeper Karl Darlow says he and his team-mates got the reward their effort deserved against Norwich yesterday.
The Reds secured a dramatic victory
, overturning a 1-0 deficit courtesy of goals from Britt Assombalonga and a second-half injury-time strike from Michail Antonio.
And Darlow was thrilled the team’s resilience paid dividends.
Speaking straight after the match, he said: “We’ve slogged away game after game to try to put it right, we’ve never given up. The spirit was there even in games we were losing and today we’ve reaped the rewards.
“It’s a bit scary when you’re losing a lot of games but today was a gritty, determined performance which shows we’re desperate to keep fighting and work our way back up the table.”
Sky Bet Championship action now takes a break for the latest round of international fixtures, and Darlow is looking forward to letting the euphoria sink in.
He said: “It’s a massive relief and now we can build on this and take it into the next game.
“It’s nice to have that winning feeling and it will breed confidence among the team and fans.”
