Chris Cohen believes ‘everything is in place’ for Nottingham Forest to be successful.
The Reds have struggled for form of late, but their skipper is confident the club has the structure in place to progress in both the short and long-term future.
Cohen said: “When you lose games of football, confidence does get a little bit lower. There’s no way around that. It makes winning harder.
“But we have a very good manager who loves the football club, a chairman who has invested so heavily and a group of players good enough to get promoted.
“We can’t just keep talking about it, as a club we need to take the next step. All the right things are in place for us to do that.”
Cohen was reflecting on the season so far with Forest Player, and he believes it’s only a matter of time before his team-mates rediscover the form which helped them make a scintillating start to the season.
He said: “The manager and the coaching staff are doing exactly the same things as they were when we were winning games, so nothing’s changed.
“We just need a little bit of luck or someone to do something a little bit special and I’m sure we can go on another run like we did at the start of the season.”
