Michael Mancienne says Nottingham Forest must go ‘back to basics’ in order to improve their form.
The Reds were beaten 3-0 by Huddersfield Town yesterday, prolonging a lengthy spell without a victory.
And Mancienne hopes he and his teammates can recapture the form they showed at the start of the campaign to help overturn the recent poor run of results.
Speaking after the match at the John Smith’s Stadium, he said: “I think it happens to every team - you go through a bit of a rough spell. We’ve just got to get back to basics and start doing what we did at the beginning of the season - moving the ball and keeping things tight throughout the whole team.
“We have to keep the boys together and keep the spirit high in the camp. All we can do now is work hard and fight for each other because we’re the only ones who can change it.”
Forest take on Brentford at The City Ground on Wednesday night, and Mancienne is thankful for the fact the next match is just around the corner.
“The biggest positive we have at the minute is that we’ve got a game on Wednesday, so we have a chance to correct what’s been happening.”
