Nottingham Forest manager Stuart Pearce says his players should be ‘very proud’ of this afternoon’s 3-0 win over Wolves.
Three second-half goals handed Forest a comfortable victory at Molineux
and Pearce was understandably happy with the performance.
He told Forest Player after the match: “I thought we throughly deserved to win the game, and by that scoreline.
“We’ve taken our performance in training into today. They put everything we worked on into practice and delivered a fantastic result. They should be very proud of that performance.
“The players have had their tails up over the last two weeks and there’s a real confidence around the training ground.”
Pearce was particularly pleased with the clean sheet, which he attributed to the whole team, but praised Henri Lansbury and Eric Lichaj in particular for their display in the West Midlands.
He said: “That’s the sort of performance and goalscoring prowess we want from Henri. As I said to him, come Thursday he might not have been starting this game. But his performance in training convinced me.
“Bakary Sako is a big handful and I thought Eric Lichaj dealt with him as well as any player will do in this league. It was an absolutely incredible performance.”
