Jamie Mackie believes his dream of winning promotion to the Premier League with Nottingham Forest could come true next season.Reviewing the 2013-14 campaign for Forest Player, Mackie, who made more appearances than anyone else in his debut season on Trentside, admitted The Reds’ 11th-place finish was “not a position the playing staff are happy with”, but reaffirmed his confidence that the club is moving forward.
He said: “In QPR I left a club I knew would definitely be up there, but I took the opportunity to come here because I believed Nottingham Forest could get promoted to the Premier League.
“I don’t know what’s going to happen to the squad, inevitably there will be changes in the summer, but as long as we keep the core of what we have, we have the makings of a side that can mount a charge for the Premier League. I believe that and we all want to achieve it.
“It’s the best league to play in and the best one for the fans to watch. If Stuart Pearce can lead us there it will be doubly satisfying for the fans because he’s such a legend here.”
