Nottingham Forest goalkeepers Karl Darlow and Dorus de Vries thanked fans for their support after Saturday’s season finale against Brighton. The pair spoke to Forest Player while completing a lap of appreciation along with the rest of the first-team squad and staff.
Darlow said: “The fans have been brilliant for us all season. We’ve had some tough times but they’ve been there throughout, so big thanks to them. It’s horrible to see teams creep into the playoffs when we know it should be ourselves. Hopefully the hurt we’re feeling now can drive us on next season and we can be right up there.”
De Vries added: “You can’t underestimate the power of the fans, especially at The City Ground. Unfortunately we couldn’t reward them with a good victory on the final day – we’re really gutted about that. But we gave it our all and, with their support, we’re going to give it a really good go next season.”
