Season ticket holder Colin Betts has shared his Nottingham Forest story with the world after being selected as the very first #faceofforest.Colin, 64, who has renewed his family’s seats in the Main Stand for the 2014-15 campaign, was invited to The City Ground to tell Forest Player about his experiences of following The Reds.
He said: “My earliest major memory is of the 1959 FA Cup final, which I watched on a 12” TV in my front room in Clifton with my dad and his mates.
“I also took my wife, sister, brother-in-law and younger brother, who still sits with me now, to Germany for the 1979 European Cup final. We made a holiday out of it. There was a lot of mingling with the Malmo fans, plenty of goodwill and of course ‘the goal.’”
Not only was Colin fortunate enough to support the club in the most successful period of its history, he was also able to watch Stuart Pearce’s City Ground career unfold. And, with Pearce due to take charge of first-team affairs in July, Colin has backed him wholeheartedly.
He said: “Stuart has the support of every single Forest supporter. He has a bottomless well of respect and goodwill from us all, earned in his years as the world’s best - and most loyal - left back.
“He is and always will be one of our own.”
