Nottingham Forest deputy manager Ned Kelly has paid tribute to the supporters who attended this afternoon’s defeat at The iPro Stadium. The Reds were given excellent vocal backing on a difficult afternoon in Derbyshire and, speaking to Forest Player after the game, Kelly sympathised with those who had made the short trip along the A52.
He said: “We’re extremely disappointed for the supporters who came in huge numbers and gave us great backing.
“That gives everyone at the club a lift and we’ll be looking to get back on track with three points against Charlton on Tuesday.
“Big credit has to go to Steve McClaren and his group. They were clinical in their finishing but we were disappointed in the manner we conceded the goals.
“We went 1-0 down very early but we thought we were still in the game. We were doing reasonably well before being hit by another sucker punch.
“We made a positive substitution at half-time, taking Guy Moussi off for Darius Henderson, and were hoping to score an early goal after the break to give us a bit of impetus to get back into the game.
“But again we were disappointed in how we conceded the fourth goal and it was a difficult challenge from there.”
