Nottingham Forest manager Billy Davies has told Forest Player of the excitement in his camp ahead of tomorrow’s Sky Bet Championship clash with Barnsley.Less than two months of the regular season remain and the manager is citing tomorrow’s trip to Oakwell as the beginning of a “great challenge”.
He said: “There are 13 very big games ahead for this football club. We’ve got to recognise the number of points we’ll need to reach at least the playoffs and also the top two.
“We are sitting in a very healthy league position and know what we need to do to make sure we finish at the top end of the table. That’s a great challenge for everyone connected with the football club.
“We faced three very strong teams in Leicester, Burnley and Wigan in probably our weakest position. We accept it was difficult, but the problems surrounding those games are now in the past.
“We now have a 13-game challenge which we’re all looking forward to.”
Tomorrow marks the beginning of a five-match touchline ban for the Reds manager, who this morning stated he would not be participating in any media duties for those games.
He said: “Under the advice of my legal team I will not be conducting any interviews until 26 March.
“We’ve got two very experienced and competent members of staff in Julian Darby and Ned Kelly, who will conduct all the necessary pre and post-match interviews in the meantime.”
