Reds Swoop For Peltier

24 March 2014

Nottingham Forest have signed Leeds United defender Lee Peltier on loan until 24 May.

The highly rated right-back began his career with Liverpool and featured in The Reds’ 3-2 Champions League defeat to Galatasaray in December 2006 before spending two months on loan at Hull City later that season.

Another loan spell followed as the defender joined Yeovil Town in January 2008 and his success at Huish Park led to him signing a permanent deal with The Glovers upon the expiration of his initial loan deal.

After making 77 appearances for Yeovil, Peltier was snapped up by Huddersfield Town and he went on to help The Terriers reach the League One playoff final in 2010-11 where they were beaten 3-0 by Peterborough United at Wembley.

Championship football wasn’t to evade Peltier for long as he made the switch to Leicester City in June 2011 and scored on his debut for The Foxes in their 1-0 win at Coventry City on the opening day of the 2011-12 campaign.

After only one season at The King Power Stadium, the Liverpudlian was on the move again as he joined Leeds in August 2012. Since his arrival at Elland Road, Peltier has made 75 appearances and scored once for The Whites and was named as club captain during his first season at the club.

Peltier, who featured in Leeds’ 2-1 defeat at The City Ground in December, can play anywhere along the back four and will bring a wealth of Football League experience to the squad.
