Nottingham Forest midfielder Guy Moussi says Saturday’s clash with local rivals Derby County will be ‘the game of the season’ for Reds players and supporters. The Frenchman could be in line to feature in his 8th East Midlands derby since joining Forest in 2008 but says his desire to beat the near-neighbours is stronger than ever given the importance of this season’s fixture.
He told Forest Player: “I’m excited because it is the game of the season. It is a massively important game because we need to win to keep our place in the top six. These are the games you play football for and we’re only concentrating on getting a good result.
“Going to Derby is always difficult because they’ve got home support. But we know we’ve got thousands of Forest fans travelling to the game too. They’ll support us as much as they can because to them it is the most important match of the season.”
If selected then Moussi will be making his 150th appearance for Forest at The iPro Stadium and the midfielder says it would be a dream day if he and his teammates can cap it with a positive result.
“It would be great to achieve 150 games for Nottingham Forest and especially against Derby. I’m really pleased to be at the club and if we can take three points home with us then it will be an even more special afternoon.”
