Jimmy Joins Academy Staff

14 March 2014

Nottingham Forest have announced the appointment of Jimmy Gilligan as the club’s new Lead Professional Development Coach.

The former Watford, Cardiff and Portsmouth player is the latest addition to the club’s Academy staff and will now fill the role that his predecessor Steve Chettle vacated in November.

Gilligan has most recently enjoyed a spell as head coach at the Nike Academy and has had many years of working in youth development.

Academy manager Gary Brazil says he is delighted with the latest appointment to his coaching staff and believes Gilligan will bring a fresh approach to the club’s Academy setup.

He said: “I am really pleased to get Jimmy on board as a member of the Academy staff because he brings with him a wealth of experience and also plenty of enthusiasm and energy.

“Jimmy has coached at all levels of the game and enjoys developing and preparing younger players to make the step up to the Under 21s and beyond. I’m sure he cannot wait to get his teeth into his new role and I’m looking forward to working with him.”
