Finding The Solution

11 March 2014

Nottingham Forest first-team coach Julian Darby says The Reds must 'find a way to win' when they make the trip to Middlesbrough tonight (kick-off 7.45pm).

Despite heading to Teesside on the back of three straight league defeats, Darby insists that the squad are in optimistic mood as they look to put an end to their five-match winless run.
He said: "Middlesbrough have a fantastic squad and it is always a tough place to go. But we're still 5th in the table and we've got quality players in our dressing room so we'll head up there in a positive frame of mind.
"We had the fantastic 16-game unbeaten run and now we've hit a little blip. History shows that was always going to happen but what is important is that we remedy recent results. We need to get that first win under our belts and although it might not be pretty, we need to find a way to win as soon as possible."
Good news from the treatment room has been in short supply over recent months but with a trio of players edging closer to a first-team return, Darby says now is the time for other squad members to make a positive impression to keep their place in the side.
He said: "Andy Reid should be back sooner rather than later, Kelvin Wilson has been back on the grass playing for the Under 21s and Henri Lansbury is probably a month away from returning to action. So we know we're making good progress in getting players back from injury.
"It does affect the dressing room when these big personalities are missing. But it also gives the lads who haven't been getting much game time the chance to roll their sleeves up to their shoulders and make a position their own."
