Chosen Charity For Charlton

17 March 2014

Indigo Brave has been supporting vulnerable people in Nottingham for 17 years.

They work with young people with emotional and behavioural problems and people with long-term mental health issues, to give them the skills and self-confidence to make the most of their potential.

They are an independent social enterprise and are proud to be one of the finalists of ‘Notts Social Enterprise of the Year’.  They are based in St Ann’s, Sneinton and Sherwood, but have recently started a new venture, Indigo Brave Land, on a small holding near Newark (to see more please visit www.indigobraveland.co.uk).

They want to combine their ground-breaking methodology with access to nature to allow even more life-changing breakthroughs for their clients.

Mental health problems will affect more than one in four of us and mental illnesses like depression are dramatically on the increase.  However, meeting within a supportive group, in nature, and sharing experiences of life can have a tremendously beneficial effect.  Over 95% of their clients report improvements in their understanding of themselves and other people, their relationships, and their quality of life.  Many of their clients come off medication entirely and are able to access work and education opportunities.

Your money will help to increase the number of people who can benefit from Indigo Brave’s work.  It will also help to improve the facilities on-site, to insulate one of the barns to offer a warm space for groups to work in after they have worked outside and enjoyed all the fresh air!
