Nottingham Forest have completed the signing of Dutch striker Lars Veldwijk from Excelsior for an undisclosed fee.
The 22 year old, who has made a name for himself as a powerful target man, has put pen to paper on a three-year deal at The City Ground.
After spending time in the youth ranks at Dutch sides Legmeervogels and SV Argon, Veldwijk made his professional debut with First Division side FC Volendam in 2011.
A move to Eredivisie outfit FC Utrecht followed but after struggling to make an impact the forward was loaned out to FC Dordrecht where he netted 16 goals in 33 matches.
Veldwijk’s ability in front of goal was spotted by Excelsior who snapped him up in 2013 and it was with Marinus Dijkhuizen’s side that he really began to gain a reputation.
The striker bagged 34 goals in 42 league games last season as Excelsior won promotion to the Eredivisie including four goals in as many matches during the end of season play-offs.
