Nottingham Forest have announced the signing of former England youth international centre back Louis Laing.The 21-year-old has agreed a one-year contract with the option of a further year and will arrive on a free transfer upon the expiration of his Sunderland deal on 1 July.
Born in Newcastle, Laing’s early potential saw him represent England at a number of youth levels. He made his senior debut for The Black Cats towards the end of the 2010-11 season, coming off the bench in a Premier League fixture against Wolves.
He spent time on loan at Wycombe Wanderers the following campaign, making 11 appearances at Adams Park before returning to the Stadium of Light to continue his development.
Laing is now set to learn from the likes of the experienced Jack Hobbs, Kelvin Wilson, Greg Halford and Danny Collins as he embarks on a new chapter in his career.
