Season ticket holder Callum Horspool has become the latest #faceofforest.Callum, who has secured his seat in the upper tier of the Bridgford Stand along with his uncle and cousin, was invited along to The City Ground recently to tell his story to the Forest Player cameras.
Too young to have experienced Stuart Pearce’s playing career first-hand, stories of the left back’s passion, drive and determination inspired Callum to commit himself fully to the 2014-15 campaign. And he can’t wait to experience the euphoria surrounding Pearce’s return when Blackpool arrive on the opening day of the season.
He said: “It’s going to be like a cauldron. The atmosphere is just going to be electric. I’ve experienced proper atmospheres at The City Ground when Derby and other teams visit, but when Pearce walks out of the tunnel it’s just going to be ‘wow’.
“I’m looking forward to the crowd roaring the team on and applauding Pearce like the old days. His return will just lift everybody. Forest deserve to be in the Premier League. We’ve got the structure, we’ve got the crowds and we’ve definitely got the players. All we need is that one motivating factor, and I think that’s what Pearce will provide.”
The fixtures for the forthcoming campaign were announced earlier this week, and there’s no surprise as to where Callum directed his attention first.
He said: “The first fixtures I look out for are Derby at home and away, definitely. We would be lonely without them and Leicester, so I’m glad they stayed down.
“I’m looking forward to seeing how the players react to what Pearce says before the games. It will be pretty special.”
