New Nottingham Forest signing Chris Burke says the decision to move to The City Ground was a 'no-brainer'.
The former Cardiff and Birmingham man has agreed a two-year deal
with The Reds and says that memories of playing in front of the Forest fans helped make his decision to move to Trentside.
Speaking to Forest Player in his first interview, he said: “I’m delighted to be here. Forest have always been a club I’ve enjoyed playing against. The City Ground has a great atmosphere with great fans and I’m looking forward to being a part of that now.
“There’s no doubt that this is a Premier League club playing in the Championship. I listened to what the manager had to say and what his ambitions are and I really liked what we spoke about. In the end it was a no-brainer for me."
The Scottish international has established a glittering reputation as a creative winger and with Burke describing himself as a man fully committed to the cause, he says he can't wait to get started when the season kicks off in 11 days' time.
He said: “First of all I’d say that I’m a winger. Along the way I’ll chip in with goals and with assists and I won’t shy away from working hard. One thing you’ll get from me is 110% effort and I’ll make sure that I work harder than anyone else on the pitch.
"It comes thick and fast and there’s not long until the start of the season. I’m sure there’ll be plenty of screaming and shouting, joy and tears from our supporters in the stands. But hopefully this season there’ll be a lot more joy than tears."
