Nottingham Forest’s Under 18s get their FA Youth Cup campaign underway on Friday night with a third-round clash against Charlton Athletic at The City Ground (kick-off 7pm).

Gary Brazil’s latest batch of youngsters will be looking to repeat last season’s run to the semi-finals which saw The Reds see off Cardiff, Rochdale, Huddersfield and Bolton before they were cruelly beaten by Norwich City on penalties in the last four.

Brazil is expecting a tough assignment but hopes plenty of Forest fans will take the opportunity to see his young side take on their London counterparts.

He said: “It would be great to see a big crowd at The City Ground for the game. We feel it would be good for the public to see how the boys are developing and what we are trying to build within the Academy.”

Admission for the game is priced at £3 for adults and £1 for concessions and kick-off is at 7pm.

The winners of Friday night’s tie will face a trip to Southampton in the fourth round.
