Nottingham Forest have announced the signing of Algerian forward Rafik Djebbour.The 29 year old, who has been on loan at Turkish side Sivasspor from Greek Champions Olympiacos this season, has signed a two-and-a-half-year deal at The City Ground.
Djebbour boasts an impressive strike rate – he scored 39 goals in 56 league games for Olympiacos, 20 of which came last season as he ended the campaign as the division’s top scorer.
He also possesses Champions League experience and has netted in victories against the likes of Arsenal and Borussia Dortmund.
The France-born forward began his career at Auxerre before building a career for himself in Greece. In 2008 he joined AEK Athens where he scored 22 league goals in 58 appearances, a record which prompted his move to Olympiacos.
A compatriot of Reds winger Djamal Abdoun, Djebbour has 32 caps for Algeria and will now be looking to make his mark in England.
