Nottingham Forest chairman Fawaz Al Hasawi has revealed negotiations with potential new signings are underway. The subject of transfers was high on the agenda when Mr Al Hasawi met with manager Billy Davies earlier today and the Reds chairman told Forest Player the club has a number of targets on its radar.
Mr Al Hasawi said: “We have four of five players in mind, from which we will choose two or three. The manager will decide because it is his team and he knows exactly which positions he wants to strengthen. We are working hard on it.
“We are negotiating with players’ agents and I hope everybody will be pleased come the end of the month.
“I am positive for the future. We are trying so hard to reach the Premier League this season. If not, we’ll try again next year.”
The chairman also confirmed his success in negotiating a deal which he says will keep Jack Hobbs at The City Ground until at least the end of the season.
He said: “I dealt directly with Hull City and they accepted our deal. At the moment he is with us until the end of the season. I hope his long-term future is here but we must speak with Hobbs and his agent.”
The Reds take on Blackburn Rovers at The City Ground tomorrow (kick-off 3pm) and Mr Al Hasawi is hoping the players can keep up their excellent recent form.
He said: “All matches are difficult, especially in our league, but I hope we can get the three points – I don’t mind how, but that’s what I want.”
