Matt Derbyshire's dramatic winner against Leeds United last month has been voted by fans as Nottingham Forest's 'Goal of 2013'.The stunning strike, which came within a minute of Leeds' equaliser, beat Henri Lansbury's 30-yard effort against Bournemouth from earlier in the season into second place.
1st - Goal H (Matt Derbyshire v Leeds) - 47%
2nd - Goal E (Henri Lansbury v Bournemouth) - 30%
3rd - Goal B (Radoslaw Majewski v Huddersfield (second)) - 10%
Derbyshire's goal will now be submitted as Nottingham Forest's entry for the 'Mitre Goal of the Year for 2013' competition where a judging panel will review all clubs' entries, with the top ten to be shown on Sky Sports' Soccer AM on 9 February.
A fans' vote will then decide which goals make the final shortlist of five and the overall winner will be announced at The Football League Awards in March.
Derbyshire will be hoping to emulate fellow Forest striker Simon Cox, whose scintillating goal against Birmingham City was nominated by Reds supporters last year and went on to win the overall prize at the London ceremony.
