Kelvin’s Comeback Trail

24 January 2014

Kelvin Wilson has told Nottingham Forest’s matchday magazine that he is “making good progress” in his recovery from a back injury.

The 28 year old has been out of action for three months after the problem reoccurred during October’s 1-1 draw with Bournemouth at The City Ground.

“The back’s fine – it’s coming on well,” he says in the latest edition of the magazine, priced £2. “I’m on the grass doing a lot of sharp work and I’m making progress without a doubt.

“When I first picked up the injury I couldn’t even stand up straight, never mind walk. But now I’m running and feeling sharp.”

The former Preston man is disappointed to be missing out on tonight’s clash with his former club but has nothing but admiration for the way his teammates are performing at present.

“The whole team has been outstanding from front to back,” he says. “Even the players who haven’t been playing much have come in and done a good job and I think that’s why we are where we are at the moment.”

This edition also reflects on the stunning 5-0 win over West Ham in the third round, looks back at the past FA Cup meetings between the two clubs and includes the thoughts of Fawaz Al Hasawi, Billy Davies and Chris Cohen.

The magazine will be on sale from the usual outlets around The City Ground. It can also be downloaded via this app from 7pm onwards.
