Gonzalo Jara has told Nottingham Forest’s matchday magazine that 2014 could be a dream year for him as he aims for a place in the Premier League and the World Cup.The versatile Chilean, who is the featured player in tonight’s edition (£3), is hoping to turn out for his country at this summer’s finals in Brazil but says his immediate focus is on reaching the top flight with The Reds.
“It is my dream to win promotion and play at the World Cup,” he says. “We must target the top two positions, but the playoffs give us an extra chance to reach the top flight.
“We must take it if we have the opportunity, then hopefully I can switch my attention to Brazil. I am desperate to be in the squad for the World Cup.“
Supporters can read the full interview, in which Jara talks about adapting to life in Nottingham, in tonight’s magazine, which also features Karl Darlow.
The 23 year old has played every minute of the Sky Bet Championship campaign so far and is thoroughly enjoying the current hectic schedule of matches.
“I just love playing football, so it’s great,” he says. “Getting the chance to play for such a massive club at my age is good for me so I’ll never complain.
“The top two aren’t out of our sights yet. We know if we can keep our unbeaten run going then we’ll really start to put pressure on them.”
The magazine will be available from all the usual outlets around The City Ground. It can also be downloaded via this app from 6.45pm onwards.
