Nottingham Forest have announced the appointment of Gary Brazil as the club’s Academy manager.Brazil, who has been leading the Academy on an interim basis, will take on the permanent role as manager of the club’s esteemed youth setup.
Following Forest’s FA Youth Cup game, Brazil spoke of his delight at gaining his new position.
He said: “It’s fantastic news and I’m honoured to take up the role of Academy manager.
“The hard work really starts now for me and for my staff. We have massive potential within the Academy and it is up to us now to realise that.
“Our aim is to provide players for Charlie McParland’s Under 21 group and ultimately send them on to feature in the first team for Billy Davies.
“It was great to see the chairman at the FA Youth Cup game on Friday night and I know that both he and the manager have a lot of support for the Academy.
“My role will change slightly as I’m now a permanent fixture at the football club. Hopefully we’ll make improvements in the coming months and we can really take the Academy forward.”
