Danny Collins has told Nottingham Forest’s matchday magazine that he hopes to get ‘minutes under his belt’ against West Ham United on Sunday. The Hammers arrive on Trentside for the third round of the FA Cup with Budweiser and Collins, who has been missing with an ankle injury since October, could be in contention to face the top-flight side.
“It would be nice to go out there and get some minutes under my belt,” he says in the latest edition of the magazine, priced £2. “It’s been tough looking out of the gym window and seeing the boys train every day.
“I hate watching from the sidelines but hopefully I can put that behind me and be a part of the run in.”
The former Wales international is also relishing the prospect of facing the side he helped win promotion to the Premier League in 2012.
“West Ham are a great club with a good fan base,” he says. “I enjoyed contributing to their promotion and, if I get the chance, I look forward to playing against some familiar faces on Sunday.”
The magazine also comprises a quiz which is sure to test even the most ardent Forest or Hammers fan, there’s a look back at some previous FA Cup clashes between the two clubs and a run-down of West Ham’s history in the competition.
The magazine will be on sale from the usual outlets around The City Ground. It can also be downloaded via this app from 11am onwards.
