Nottingham Forest midfielder Andy Reid praised his teammates’ willingness to ‘do the ugly side’ in last night’s 3-0 win at Huddersfield. The Reds extended their unbeaten run to 16 matches with a hard-fought victory in West Yorkshire.
Speaking to Forest Player after the game, Reid said: “Huddersfield made it difficult for us. We had to do the ugly side and earn the right to score the goals and win the game.
“It was a fantastic win. 3-0 away from home - you can’t really ask for much more. We put a good shift in and our quality came through in the end. That comes from hard work and a determination to pass the ball properly, to head it, to tackle - if you do that in the first 60 minutes you usually get your rewards towards the end of the game, and that’s what happened.”
The Reds head to Sheffield United in the fifth round of the FA Cup with Budweiser on Sunday, a challenge Reid is relishing.
He said: “I spent three months on loan there and really enjoyed it, but we’re going there to win a game. We want to keep our fantastic run going and we have a great opportunity to get through to the next round of the cup.
“We’ll probably enjoy a little break now before getting reading for a really big game on Sunday.”
