The Good Life

25 February 2014

Nottingham Forest Under 21s Head Coach Charlie McParland says he is in the midst of ‘a very interesting and enjoyable season’ in charge of the Forest Development Squad.

McParland has been speaking to Forest Player about a range of topics including the development of his young players, his relationship with Billy Davies and his coaching partnership with Jonathan Greening.

He said: “The season has been very interesting and very enjoyable so far. Working with the younger players and watching them progress and improve has been fantastic. I’m a football person so I’m really happy to be able to coach the younger lads.

“We’ve got two or three players that I am particularly pleased with. It has been great to see the likes of Ben Osborn getting a place on the bench in the first team as well. Everyone at the club has been very supportive of what we’re trying to do here.

“Jonno has played hundreds of matches over his career and it is fantastic that the lads can learn off him. He loves football and his passion for the game rubs off on the players. He’ll go on to be a top-class coach with the knowledge that he has.”
