A young fan who voted for Matt Derbyshire’s stunning late winner against Leeds United as The Bed Chambers Dream Moment of the Month for December was invited to collect his award.11 year old Hugh Herring, who was selected at random, came down to The City Ground with his mum Liz and younger brother Rory. They were taken on a tour of the stadium including the Directors’ Box and Boardroom before heading down to The Nigel Doughty Academy to present Matt with his award.
After a morning of training ahead of the crunch clash with Leicester City, Matt took time to chat to Hugh, Liz and Rory about his special strike against Leeds and also about how he is enjoying the season so far.
Hugh, a season ticket-holder in The Main Stand, was so impressed with Matt’s 25-yard effort against The Whites that he pestered his dad to help him vote for the goal as the Bed Chambers Dream Moment of the Month.
He said: “I just thought it was a really special goal and also a really important one. We played so well that day and deserved to beat Leeds but when they scored I thought that was it. Then Matt smashed in that goal and it gave us three important points to keep us near the top of the table.”
Both Hugh and Matt were then presented with vouchers for £100 to spend at The Bed Chambers.
To be in with a chance of emulating Hugh, supporters must vote for January’s Dream Moment of the Month sponsored by the award-winning Bed Chambers, which will launch very soon on www.nottinghamforest.co.uk.
