Manager Hoping For Quick Returns

21 February 2014

Nottingham Forest manager Billy Davies says he is currently treating the rehabilitation of his injured players as his main concern.

As has been the case in many recent matches, The Reds travel to face 2nd-placed Burnley tomorrow with a severely depleted squad. And, along with preparing the best he can for each match, the manager has told Forest Player he is devoting much of his focus to ensuring some of his key players make a swift return to action.

He said: “The main thing for me is to get the quality we’re currently missing back into the squad. Once we do that we can sort out the little things we’ve been losing in the last couple of games.

“We’re getting one or two back on the grass. Eric Lichaj, Kelvin Wilson and Guy Moussi are all out there and getting closer, although not quite as close as we’d like. Kevin Gomis has also recovered from an ankle problem so he’s now doing some training. We’ll keep working on the medium to long-term injuries.”

Forest played out a frantic fixture against Leicester City on Wednesday and have been forced to train lightly ahead of tomorrow’s trip.

The manager said: “It’s the same again. Burnley have had no midweek game and therefore longer rest.

“But we will continue to go into every game prepared and determined to pick up as many points as we can.”
