Nottingham Forest defender Jack Hobbs says the squad are focused on closing the gap between themselves and the Sky Bet Championship’s top two.The Reds travel to Bloomfield Road tomorrow to face an out-of-form Blackpool (kick-off 3pm) but Hobbs says they can’t afford to take their foot off the gas as they go in search of a 15th game unbeaten in all competitions.
He told Forest Player: ““With Derby and QPR playing each other on Monday night, someone has to drop points there. It is a good opportunity for us to put pressure on them but we need to concentrate on our game to get the three points at Blackpool.
“We know it is going to be a tough game because Bloomfield Road is never an easy place to go. Every Championship game is difficult because if teams can’t match you technically then they’re going to physically.”
Hobbs limped off in his last Forest game four weeks ago but the 25 year old admits he has returned to full fitness and is more than ready to help the club achieve their promotion dream.
He said: “I picked up a minor hamstring injury but it has repaired really well and I’m looking forward to playing again. The lads have done superbly since I’ve been away but I’m glad to be back and hopefully I’ll play my part in our promotion push.
“We thought we were unfortunate to lose to Blackpool earlier in the season but all we’re looking for now is a win to move closer to the top two. When the prize is to get into the Premier League that is all the motivation we need.”
