Nottingham Forest full-back Danny Fox was delighted to cap his debut with a win against Yeovil Town yesterday.Fox, who signed on an initial loan deal from Southampton last week, played 60 minutes in a victory which he says could be crucial in The Reds' push for promotion.
Speaking to Forest Player after the match, he said: "It was a tough, tough game. Yeovil are down near the bottom and fighting for every point they can get. They're the matches you have to win whether you do it ugly or not. That could be a massive three points come the end of the season.
"Before the match the manager kept reiterating what a big game it was and how important it is to stay in touch with the teams above us. It's vital we carry on because winning breeds confidence."
Fox was given a standing ovation when he was substituted in the second half and says he will have more to offer once he fully settles into life at The City Ground.
He said: "I need to become a little bit fitter but that'll come with games. It was a big day for me with it being my debut, so to play 60 minutes and come away injury free is massive.
"Hopefully I can kick on now and get some more minutes under my belt at Preston on Wednesday."
