Fox dyes beard for cystic fibrosis

19 December 2014

Nottingham Forest’s Danny Fox has dyed his beard to raise money and awareness for cystic fibrosis.

The 28-year-old has already become an internet sensation after colouring his facial hair yellow ahead of Saturday’s televised Sky Bet Championship clash against Leeds United.

And Fox hopes his new look will help a charity close to his heart.

He told Forest Player: “My friend, Paul Williams, passed away from cystic fibrosis and this is the colour that represents their charity.

“I became an ambassador about 18 months ago and they wanted me to raise awareness by dying my beard.

“I’ve set up a JustGiving page and I’m going to do a skydive and other events to hopefully raise about £25,000.”

Fox and his team-mates are deep into their preparations for this weekend’s match, an occasion the full back is looking forward to.

He said: “It’s going to be a massive game.

“We’ve been consistent in the last one-and-a-half games but we need to start being a bit more ruthless at both ends of the pitch.

“If we can keep a clean sheet I think we’ll win the game on Saturday.”
