Michail wants to make his mark

6 August 2014

Nottingham Forest's latest signing Michail Antonio says Reds fans will see 'pace, power and goals' from him this season.

The winger today put pen to paper on a three-year deal following his switch from Sheffield Wednesday and feels his experience at Hillsborough will help him settle in to life at The City Ground.

Antonio told Forest Player: "Sheffield Wednesday are a similar-sized club to Forest. They both have great fanbases and at Wednesday the supporters showed great belief in me so I'm hoping to experience the same here.

"I'm really pleased to be here. Nottingham Forest is a massive club, it has great potential to reach the Premier League and, on a personal level, I'm here to better myself as a player and get as far as I can.

"Forest have an amazing history and they have been pushing for promotion to the Premier League for the last four or five years. Hopefully now we can get there."

Antonio has carved out a reputation as a dangerous winger known for his direct style of play and the 24 year old says he harbours hopes of making his debut in Forest's season-opener against Blackpool on Saturday.

He said: "The fans can expect lots of pace, power and goals from me this season. I'm looking to get my head down, stay fit and show the Forest fans what I can do.

"I'd love to be involved on Saturday. I've heard the game is almost sold out so hopefully, if the manager picks me, I can play a part and we can start the season off in the best way."
