Henri Lansbury has told Forest Player that his relationship with the fans convinced him to commit his long-term future to The Reds.
The midfielder this morning signed a new three-year deal at The City Ground
before reporting for training at the Nigel Doughty Academy.
Lansbury said: “The fans have been unbelievable to me. I give them everything on a Saturday and they show that in the love they give me when I’m out there.
“They’re like our extra man and that’s what we need every game this season. I think we’ve got a great chance and if they’re behind us all the way I don’t see why we can’t do it.”
Lansbury had attracted top-flight attention after an impressive 2013-14 campaign, but with his future now decided the 23-year-old is determined to produce more of the same on Trentside.
He said: “I was fit, working hard and scoring goals. The confidence was there and hopefully I can get that back in the next few weeks.
“I played in a practice game yesterday and I came through it well. It’s been horrible to be out but I’m back fit now and hopefully in the squad for Saturday.
“Nottingham feels like my second home now. I’m happy it’s all done and I can’t wait to get back out on the field.”
