A promising partnership

21 August 2014

Nottingham Forest’s Jack Hunt is enjoying the fledgling partnership he’s developing with winger Chris Burke.

Hunt, who is on loan from Crystal Palace until the new year, came off the bench at Bournemouth on Tuesday to produce a brilliant assist for Matty Fryatt’s winning goal.

The full back played a neat one-two with Burke in the process and, should he get the nod for right back against Reading ahead of the fit-again Eric Lichaj, Hunt is looking forward to teaming up with the Scotsman once more.

He said: “We’ve got a good relationship so far and we’re developing an understanding of each other’s game.

“I can’t think of many better wingers over the last five-to-ten years. He’s been so consistent in his performances and he’s very clever in his play. He comes inside when he knows I’m coming round him.

“That’s perfect for me because I love to get forward. It comes naturally to me and is a big part of my game.”

The arrival of The Royals will bring to an end a run of lengthy away trips for The Reds and, after being taken aback by the atmosphere against Blackpool on opening day, Hunt can’t wait to take to the Trentside turf on Saturday.

He said: “It’s good to be going back to The City Ground unbeaten and with the crowd behind us.

“If you’re going for promotion you want to win as many home games as you can. Whoever comes to The City Ground we’ve got to be confident we can beat them.

“We know Reading could be up there come the end of the season but we don’t fear them. We’re going to go out, play our game and hopefully come away with three points.”
