Nottingham Forest’s Jamie Paterson has told Forest Player that he and his teammates are desperate to repay the backing they have received from supporters this season. The Reds have endured a disappointing run of results of late but Forest fans have nevertheless continued to turn out in excellent numbers, something which hasn’t gone unnoticed among the players.
Paterson said: “We’ve got great support. We fill every away end no matter where we go and the fans deserve more than what they’re getting at the minute. A lot of people turned up to Tuesday’s open day and there was plenty of positivity.
“We need to restore a bit of pride. There are four games left and I want to score as many goals as I can to help the team pick up as many wins as possible.”
Paterson’s performances have been one of the biggest positives to have come out of the 2013-14 campaign, while the emergence of Ben Osborn has also been encouraging.
Paterson said: “It’s good bringing young players through. Ben came on against QPR last weekend and was quality, and he also played really well at Ipswich.
“As a young lad you just need that chance, which can be quite difficult to find at a club like Nottingham Forest, but he’s got that and hopefully he can kick on now.”
