Karl Darlow has told Nottingham Forest’s matchday magazine he and his teammates will look to take the spirit they showed at Ipswich into this afternoon’s match against Millwall (kick-off 3pm).Forest produced a strong performance at Portman Road to earn a 1-1 draw and this afternoon’s visit of the relegation-threatened Lions presents them with an opportunity to pick up their first win since February.
“We had to fight to take something at Ipswich but we did that,” says Darlow in the latest edition of the magazine, priced £3. “Now we want to use that spirit to help us succeed in these final seven matches.”
The Reds go into the match knowing a win could be enough to take them back into the top six and Darlow is confident the playoffs remain a realistic target this campaign.
“It will be a tough game this afternoon but it really is a crucial one,” he says. “We’re confident we’re back on the up now and the belief is still there in the dressing room that we’ll finish in the top six.
“A tough battle starts today, but it is one we’re ready for.”
On Thursday, the club announced Stuart Pearce will be taking over as manager in the summer and supporters can read what the man himself had to say ahead of his latest challenge.
The magazine, which also features the thoughts of Fawaz Al Hasawi and Chris Cohen, will be available from all the usual outlets around The City Ground and via this app from 2pm onwards.
