Jamie Mackie has told Nottingham Forest’s matchday magazine he still thinks The Reds have a “massive chance” of getting promoted. The upbeat forward acknowledged this season has been a turbulent one, but he is relishing the remaining games in the belief Forest can have a strong end to the campaign.
“This season has been up and down, but I still think we have a massive chance of getting promoted,” says Mackie in the latest edition of the magazine, priced £3. “There is something at stake in every match you play, but I’ve always especially enjoyed the closing period of a season.
“I can’t wait for tonight and the rest of our games to make sure we get into the playoffs.”
Henri Lansbury is also featured after returning from injury to aid Forest’s potential charge towards the playoffs and, while he remains committed to fighting Gary Brazil’s cause, the number ten is already looking forward to working with Stuart Pearce again next season.
“He’s very calm in the changing room, he’s good to be around and I’m sure he’ll bring the best out of the players,” says the central midfielder. “He’s very organised in the way he sets up his teams and that is usually reflected in their performances.
“I had a fantastic time playing under him and I look forward to working with him again.”
The magazine, which also features the thoughts of Fawaz Al Hasawi and Chris Cohen, will be available from all the usual outlets around The City Ground and via this app from 6.45pm onwards.
