A Turning Point

20 April 2014

Danny Collins says Nottingham Forest are well and truly back in the playoff race after yesterday’s victory over Birmingham City.

Collins captained the side to a 1-0 win, courtesy of Matt Derbyshire’s second-minute strike, and he believes he and his teammates can now mount a serious surge for 6th place.

Speaking after the Blues win, Colllins said: “This was hopefully our turning point. We have nine points to play for, and if we can get them it might be enough to creep us into the playoffs.

“There’s some hope for us now and we go to Leeds, who have had a bit of a tough patch themselves, with confidence.

“Before yesterday we were probably the outsiders for a top-six place but results went in our favour and I’m sure there’ll be some more slip-ups on Monday.

“We have to look after ourselves though and if we can get back to back wins we’ll be back in with a shout of getting into the top six.”
