Reds ‘A Joy To Work With’

13 September 2013

Nottingham Forest manager Billy Davies has described his squad as ‘a joy to work with’ ahead of Saturday’s Sky Bet Championship clash with Barnsley at The City Ground (kick-off 3pm).

The Reds will be aiming to get back to winning ways against David Flitcroft’s men after suffering their first defeat of the season at Wigan a fortnight ago and, Speaking to Forest Player ahead of the match, their manager was in no doubt that his men were preparing correctly for the short and long-term future.

He said: “This group are a joy to work with on a day-to-day basis. They are hard-working, conscientious and there is a great spirit within the squad. It is great to come into training every day and the lads have an obvious determination to do well.

“We’re looking forward to what will be a very busy period with seven games in 21 days - I’m sure it will be a difficult time for us.”

Barnsley took a goalless draw away from The City Ground last season and Forest’s boss is expecting another tricky assignment when The Tykes arrive on Trentside this time around.

He said: “We take one game at a time and we’ll respect Barnsley because they are a tough side to face. Every game is important for us and we’ll continue to work hard to get the three points.

“We’re facing another period of games which will add to our tough start to the season. We’ve come out of August with a good tally of points so we’ll head into this next task with confidence.”
